But I used to have more of a voice, for sure. In the days of chat I could captivate a whole room. Before reddit became fake and gay I could easily rack up posts with 10's (sometimes hundreds) of upvotes about various topics and while the discussions were usually fucking stupid there was kind of something. Because I believe in freedom of speech I've been relegated to upgoat which actually by my estimation is one of the best websites on the internet for its actual free speech. Now people will downvote you here but you can say pretty much whatever the fuck you want. Yet this site has dwindled down to very few users, many of whom seem to derive their energy from hating jews. Which is not exactly my energy. I mean the whole genocide thing they are doing is definitely a mark against them in my book and I'm not a super big fan of how they're stealing my tax dollars to do it nor do I really like how they seem to own everyone in the federal government but I have better things to do with my time than shitpost about any particular group. If anything I'd prefer to be positive and point out how white is right but I'm working on other shit right now.
Twitter is supposed to be this big thing for free speech. But I mean twitter is fucking attention deficit disorder, people writing one or two sentences about random topics they know nothing about, one post is about trump and you scroll down and the next post is about pepsi, and then you scroll down and there's a fucking cat or some shit and I'm like I'm losing my fucking mind - what is this retarded shit. And free speech for who? Fucking celebrities? The entire design of twitter was to give celebrities a new platform to talk to their many followers. Insignificant nobodies like me have never had less of a voice. What good is free speech if you have no one at all to listen to you.
But where you are allegedly allowed to have a voice (Medium) it must be constrained to fit. You ever try and go on discord? Holy fucking shit I contemplate blowing my head right the fuck off every time I go on there. It is sooo dumb, I just want it to stop.
There's just nowhere anymore. Everyone seems to have surrendered their agency to cultural icons. And the cultural icons are loving it. And I guess they have a freedom of speech as long as they stay within very strict lines to be honest.
