After a trio of men, Rio, Doc, and Dad, steal two saddle bags of gold from a mexican bank, the group believes they've gotten away, but when the rurales catch up to them and kill Doc, Dad abandons Rio to the authorities to serve 5 years in prison. Rio escapes and sets out for revenge against his betrayer in "One-Eyed Jacks"; then a retired lawman is cornered by a posse that accuses him of cattle rustling and murder, the posses strings him up and leaves him for dead. Surviving the attempt on his life, the lawman has his status as a marshal reinstated in order to bring down the men who tried to kill him in "Hang 'Em High".
